I am doing fine just a little lazy on the drawing lately. Real life is taking a toll and to sit down for a few hours and really work on a picture when all you want to do is curl up and relax after a long day.... well, I hope I'll be more productive in 2012.
Aw, I hope it didn't sound like I was bugging you, because real life is important!
I am doing pretty well. As far as "real life" I have a job in a nursing home but I'd like to find more work and better work. Still writing fanfic and originals but I've slowed down too. Would like to write more originals though.
Random thing to say but I'm listening to a lot of German music lately. Just saying that because you used to post some now and then on your journal!
If I really buckle down to it I can write. I just wish I could write something longer than a poem, but that kind of thing is suited for here at least.
Well, I like the Donots but they sing in English. As far as stuff that's in German, where I'm looking up translations online, I like Madsen, Wir Sind Helden, and I seem to have a terrible crush on be listening to a lot of Farin Urlaub.
Mhhh - since you know Farin Urlaub you are probably familiar with "Die Ärzte". Then there are "Die Toten Hosen" as another 'classic' band - I always liked Bonnie & Clyde [link] but they have punk tendencies not smooth voices so be warned...
For something softer you could try "Rosenstolz". Personally I like "Subway to Sally" but I realize not everybody is into that kind of music.
My sister loves "Wir sind Helden" so In know of them but I've never heard anything by "Madsen" myself. Guess I'll find out what kind of music they make...
I haven't heard much of Die Ärzte, oddly enough, just his other work but of course I'm going to have to check them out. I remember seeing one song of theirs here at your journal. I've heard of Die Toten Hosen and mean to look into them too.
I like punk tendencies, so no problem on that!
I'll look into the other two also, always willing to check out good stuff.
I'm not sure how to describe Madsen. Some of their pieces are "harder" than others and their lyrics can be kind of deep which is nice.
(I also kind of like Jennifer Rostock, if you've ever heard of them. But apparently I can't get Jennifer Rostock CDs here easily...)
