Description
A few weeks ago I went through my gallery looking at old pictures and realizing that what I was really proud of 2 years ago I no longer like.
That is I like the idea or even the pose but no longer the execution.
So I decided to re-do another old picture. This one was a request for a vampire version of Showman. I decided I liked the pose and the general idea but I remember I had a lot of trouble sorting the the anatomy back then.
My original idea of having him tip his hat to the viewer never worked the way I imagined it in my mind and I dropped it.
So I tried again - I used the same lounging pose but changed the arm and a few details.
he also turned out a little less snarling and more subtle for a creature of the night - and a lot more tempting rather than just plain dangerous.
Original deviation: [link]
I have to admit while I have a lot more practise with the likeness and doing skin, eyes & hair (& enjoy those parts most) I am still not fond or doing folds (nor good at it.) I loose patience with it easily and tend to give up.
Same goes for backgrounds. I usually can't wait to finish by the time I get to that point so I take the easy way out.
Thanks to:
for the chest hair tutorial. [link]
for my usual hair & fur brush [link]
for the shirt texture [link]
